Eskdale is a beautiful valley in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The Chalets are set in a stunning riverside location close to the village of Boot.

Boot village offers two traditional Inns, the oldest working watermill in England, a local craft shop and a Post Office.

Eskdale is surrounded by the biggest, deepest, oldest and steepest in England!

Sca fell; England’s highest mountain is within walking distance. Wast water, England’s deepest lake is a beautiful place to spend the day, just 10 minutes drive. Nestled in Boot is England’s oldest working water mill. At the top of the valley is England’s steepest road, The Hard Knott Pass, where you will find the Roman Fort. The Lal Ratty Railway, a narrow gauge steam railway, winds its way down through the valley from Eskdale to Ravensglass perhaps England’s prettiest train journey.

For Active people Eskdale could provide you with a new mountain to climb each day. We would also be happy to drop you at the start of a walk or collect you from the finish. There are also numerous climbs and mountain bike rides. All available from the door!

For a more leisurely break the valley offers gentle walks along the river, through the woods. You could discover the secret tarn, the gorgeous church or visit the stunning waterfalls at Stanley Ghyll.

Eskdale is an excellent location to access the entire Lake District and all it has to offer. Most of the attractions can be reached within an hours drive.
